Robert Christian Jones


Chris Jones grew up on Texas politics, and although he has worked in the nation's capital since 1991, he still calls Austin home.

Chris is the founder and managing partner of CapitolWorks and leads executive searches, business development, and operations. He draws on over fifteen years of Washington, DC experience and a network that extends across Capitol Hill and public affairs organizations.

Chris is also the founder and CEO of PoliTemps, a temporary and permanent placement firm focused on legislative, governmental, and political staffing since 1996. PoliTemps has tripled in size over the past decade and has provided more than 1,000 clients with temporary and permanent staff noted for their political savvy and professionalism.  He counts among his clients a premier roster of top political consultants, PR firms, corporations, associations, and non-profits in the DC area.

Chris served in the US Navy from 1984 to 1988 as a Yeoman and then as an Intelligence Specialist-Analyst on the USS Blue Ridge, where he was detached to the Seventh Fleet Intelligence Department.

His experience on Capitol Hill dates from 1991, when he worked as an LBJ Intern for the House Judiciary Committee under Congressman Jack Brooks of Texas and later for Congressman and Majority Whip David Bonior of Michigan. In 1994, he joined the Ann Richards for Governor campaign in Austin, Texas.

Chris graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in political science, and he is pursuing a master's in government at Johns Hopkins University.  A member of the American Association of Political Consultants, Chris has been featured by the Washington Post, Roll Call, CNN, the Washington Business Journal, and other media outlets as an expert on Washington's politics, people, and careers.

He lives in Chevy Chase, MD, with his wife, Lisa Jacobson, and active daughters Alexandra and Katherine.


Ryan E. Polich


Ryan Polich is a principal of CapitolWorks and leads executive-level searches and business development. He also directs the research process at the firm. His sector experience spans public affairs, finance and technology.

Prior to joining CapitolWorks, Ryan worked at Heidrick & Struggles International, one of the world's premier retained executive search firms. He served in the firm's top-ranked Seattle office as a memeber of the international technology practice. He then joined Quellos Group LLC, a Seattle-based hedge fund and investment firm serving large institutions and substantial private clients around the world. As an in-house recruiter, Ryan helped rapidly expand the firm with "best-of-class" talent and conducted full-cycle searches across technology, marketing, and operations.

Ryan holds a bachelor's degree with honors in international political economy from the University of Puget Sound. He also earned a master's degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where his research examined the role of culture, institutional goals, and leadership dynamics on organizational performance.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Ryan was raised in rural Oregon and now lives in Washington, DC.
